Solar
Energola is a side shutter designed for pergolas, balconies and large glazed spaces. Each wing carries a micro photovoltaic panel, so the shutter gives shade and also produces electricity. All wings rotate, and sun and wind protection can be adjusted with a remote control. The movement system is powered by solar energy, and surplus production can be sent to the building energy network. The structure is based on extruded aluminium profiles, which can be separated easily for recycling. The standard module is 1000 mm wide and 2200 mm high and can be scaled to suit requirements.

Solar Side Shutter for Pergola was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Building Materials and Construction Components Design in 2020. The A' Building Materials and Construction Components Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that honors excellent design of bricks, beams, windows, doors, insulation materials, roofing materials, plumbing fixtures, electrical components and more.
